I took this photo a few weeks ago at one of the last favors from my Haiti fundraiser. The favor was to weed my friend’s yard and, as crappy as that sounds, I really enjoyed it. It cleared my mind and let it wander to things I’ve neglected to think about of late.
As I encountered worms and potato/pill bugs, I was brought back to elementary school. It disappointed me that these once common objects in my life were just childhood memories now. It hit me that although I see nature every day, I am really out of touch with it.
Thinking about this led me to realize that my goals surround building a life where I can feed my curiosity. I want to know what’s going on in the grass in front of my building but also want to see what’s going on across the world.
What can I do to get closer to knowing more about what’s out there? The answer to that feels close. Time to make it happen.
